A SWW spokesman said: “We take immediate measures to stop the flow, show well and clean the area, as well as placing hay bundles to prevent them from running more.
“We take these incidents extremely seriously, notifying the Environment Agency (EA) as soon as this incident identified, and we continue working with them.”
Gater said he had to close his business due to wastewater escape.
“It’s a fight at this time,” he said.
“We are a young business and I have been putting a lot of money in business development.
“Until I can be sure that someone will take responsibility for this effluent and eliminate it, and then come and test and certify that this is clean enough, I cannot open and I cannot win a grain.”
