Devon’s couple wins the judicial battle with the council on the escape pipe

Anne StroBel said the council was first called to repair the pipe in 2018.

He said that the pipe was “old and fragile,” he continued to break.

The local authority set it more twice before saying that the pipe did not belong to the Council.

Mr. and Mrs. Strobel, 77 and 71, who were not insured by the damage, had tried to receive compensation from the Devon County Council for seven years.

After a three -day civil case in the Exeter County Court, the Registrar Richard Paige ordered the Council to pay the couple’s legal fees and fees.

Until now, the Council has paid the couple £ 99,585.94, but lawyers are still negotiating on the final costs.

The couple said their legal invoice was greater than £ 100,000.
