The family was broken after the wife dies, the husband was injured in Broward.

A family from South Florida staggers after an accident outrage left a dead woman and her severely injured husband near the coast of Pompano Beach on Friday night.

Sal and Patricia Marciante crossed Atlantic Boulevard after dinner with their daughter and granddaughter when a truck hit them, according to the authorities.

Patricia was urgently taken to the hospital, where she died from internal injuries. Sal remains hospitalized with multiple injuries, including a broken leg, shattered ankle and brain trauma.

“This has destroyed our family,” said Antonio Marcian, Salt brother, who has been with his bed since the accident. “They were always together, best friends. They were supposed to be their best retirement years.”

Driver accused of fleeing the scene while affected

Broward’s sheriff deputies arrested Ashley Bowman, the alleged driver of the truck, who said they fled after hitting the couple. According to an arrest report, Bowman “accelerated, hitting both victims without stopping.”

When the deputies reached her, she showed “signs of disability … injected into blood and glassy eyes,” the report said.

Bowman appeared in the Bond court in Broward on Sunday, where a judge ordered his retention without bail for a Homicide position for DUI.

A family in mourning

Judicial records show that Bowman has a deteriorated driving history. She was arrested in North Carolina in 2011 and sentenced by an intoxicated position.

Meanwhile, Sal Mariante does not realize that his wife has died. His brother said he is still talking about his future plans.

“They were planning a trip to Palermo,” said Antonio Marciante. “He told me: ‘Don’t forget the trip.’ My heart broke.”

The family has hired a private researcher while looking for justice for Patricia.
