A force spokesman said previously: “Since the report arrived, we have been conducting extensive investigations in the area, speaking with residents and several witnesses.

“The officers continue to track through hundreds of CCTV hours and additional resources have been dedicated to this to ensure that we can build a detailed timeline of events that led to this incident, and the movements suspected from then on. We continue working closely with the victim to support it in what is an anguishing moment.

“The police have now published a video of a man they would like to speak with, since they believe he can help with the consultations. If he recognizes something about this man, contact us.”

INSTITUTE INSPECTOR KIMBERLEY HIES, GMP’S Rochdale District, aggregate: “We believe that this is an unpaved attack that has left an incredibly shocked woman. We know that listening to this incident will be worrying for our communities, but I want to assure you that an extensive work is being done to locate the suspect, and we have additional patrols in the area to talk to residents and offer support.

“We have a team of detectives and police officers who work 24 hours to identify who is responsible for this attack, and we are appealing to the public that can help us. We have published images of a man we would like to talk to, since we believe we could have relevant information for our research.

“While you can’t see your face in the video, we ask if someone recognizes clothes or maybe its construction, and can help us identify it, please come.”
