Two officers from the Houston Police Department seriously injured when Cruiser crashed into Pilar in North Loop

Houston, Texas (Ktrk) – Two officers from the Houston Police Department were seriously injured after their cruise crashed into a pillar in the northwest of Houston on Sunday morning, authorities said.

HPD says that the two officers of the North Shepard division were in the North IH-610 loop in it around 1 in the morning when they responded to a call to help another officer.

The authorities said that once the IH-610 feeder went down, they tried to make a U turn but lost the brand and hit one of the pillars.

One of the officers suffered multiple broken bones, and the reach of the wounds of the second officer is not clear, authorities said.

Lieutenant JP Horelia with HPD said both officers, a man and a woman, were 20 days after his first anniversary within the department.

Both were taken to hospitals in the Houston area, where they underwent treatment.

Their conditions remain unknown.
