Liv Golf: Hong Kong working on the agreement to bring the return event ‘Year after year’, says Law

Hong Kong is working in a long -term agreement with LIV Golf to recover the “wonderful tournament year after year,” the City Sports and Tourism Minister said on Sunday.

Rosanna Law Shuk-Pui told a small press meeting at the Hong Kong Golf Club that, although the details were still being resolved, the “intention of both parties to ensure an agreement is strong.”

Talking together with the Liv Golf CEO, Scott O’Neil, after touring the course, seeing Phil Mickelson play part of his final round and experience a full fans village, Law praised the “fun atmosphere” in Fanling.

“We are working very closely and seriously with Liv Golf organizer,” Law said. “When I see all the faces of the audience, they are very happy, obviously, obviously. And it is very different from a formal tournament that is so appropriate, so serious, but this here, you have a fun atmosphere and everything is so relaxed.

“I think this is what tourism and entertainment should be.”

When asked about a time scale for an agreement, the Secretary of Culture, Sports and Tourism said the two parties were “very close to agreed on something.”
