Pedestriano hit the intersection of Meriden twice, the driver flees from the scene

Meriden-a 73-year-old man was seriously injured on Wednesday when he was hit by two vehicles while crossing a street, and a driver fled the scene before being arrested later.

Maurice Carrier was legally crossing at the intersection of Park Street and Cedar Street around 12:10 pm, when he was beaten by a Ford Blue explorer with New Jersey plates, according to the police.

The driver left without stopping to help or call emergency services, leaving the carrier lay wounded on the road.

While Carrier was on the floor, a red Toyota Rav4 driven by Clara Cruz Méndez, 41, ran over him, causing additional injuries.

Méndez parked nearby and remained in the scene, cooperating with the researchers.

Carrier was treated at the scene by Hunter’s ambulance service before being transferred by plane to a trauma center per life helicopter.

It is currently in stable conditions.

Later, the Police located the Ford Explorer near the Public Library of Meriden and identified the driver as Diego Mosqura-García, 31, who admitted his participation.

Mosqura-García was arrested and accused of evading responsibility in a collision of motor vehicles that cause serious injuries, operating a motor vehicle while the license and lack of exercise are suspended to exercise due attention near a pedestrian.

It was released with a bail of $ 5,000 and is scheduled to appear in the Superior Court of Meriden on March 20.
