The Judge of the Supreme Court recognizes women on International Women’s Day

Westmoreland, Jamaica – The Judge of the Supreme Court, Courtney Daye, who currently presides over the trial of three accused police officers in relation to the death of Mario Deane of 2014, took the time to make an early contribution to the International Women’s Day on Friday.

Saturday is observed as International Women’s Day under the subject, “Action to accelerate.”

“I want to recognize all women here, administrative staff, auxiliary personnel and accountants, and I mean they are not just people within the courtroom …” said Justice Daye, who also included reporters, prosecutors and defense lawyers.

“I am saying that it comes from all the men of the Court,” Judge Daye said, causing a smile from within the courtroom.

“Without all women in court, the wheels of justice would not have run so well,” said Judge Daye.

During judicial procedures in the Westmoreland circuit court on Friday, Judge Daye took more than a five -minute break twice. After the return of Judge Daye of the final rest, he made it clear that the breaks had nothing to do with the case, but were aimed at recognizing the declaration of the United Nations Treaty of International Women’s Day.

The United Nations first recognized the day in 1975 to highlight the importance of women’s contributions worldwide.

After the presentation of Judge Daye, one of the three fiscal prosecutors of the offices of the Director of Public Procedure, while thanking the judge, he pointed out that such comments resulted in a level of crown satisfaction.
