Member of the family of young children sexually abused by Splendora Spiritor Advisor speech

Splendora, Texas – A woman sat exclusively with the journalist of KPRC 2 Corley Peel about the years of sexual abuse that children faced in her family.

Last week, Albert Carlson, 81, was sentenced for continuous sexual abuse of children and sentenced to a lifetime in prison without probation. The prosecutors said that Carlson took advantage of the children of the neighborhood in Splendora who came from impoverished houses. They were between 10 and 17 years during the time of abuse.

KPRC 2 does not name the family member to protect the identities of the victims. She said her family lived with Carlson for approximately five years. He involved his whole family in the Church of Jesus Christ of the last days.

“He and my husband decided that maybe he could help us. He was a permanent member of the Jesus Christ of the last days. We simply try to put our faith in it and needed to get ahead. Then everything soon changed, ”he said.

The woman said that Carlson would buy the expensive gifts of the children that her family could not pay.

“I would buy the best Play stations, buy land bicycles, buy four wheels, buy skateboards, it would take children to skate, it would lead to skating clubs and anything they wanted to do.” But it was mainly for children. The girls did not have the opportunity to do that, and he told them that, ”said the woman.

Looking back, the woman said she realized that many Carlson behaviors suspected.

“He had his small private biblical studies in his room for children. I always thought it was weird. He never let our daughter join it, ”said the woman.

She said he would take children on business trips for themselves. In 2020, one of the children opened him about sexual abuse.

“So another family member had a similar story. And then a really close family member. The day I called the police, I discovered that it happened for six years, just behind the doors we live in, ”he said.

The investigators quickly learned that Carlson had a previous conviction in Utah for lascierras with a child in the 1980s. The prosecutors said that case involved a child who met in the church. The woman said she worried after learning that Carlson lived in several other states.

“He would tell the stories when we lived there on how he had skating clubs in California and all these other states that only children who jump to school and things like that. So, there must be more victims and they have to introduce themselves if there is. We have to stop this man, ”he said.

Prosecutors said five victims testified against Carlson during the trial. One of them was from the case of Utah. The woman said that a sixth possible victim did not have the opportunity to face Carlson, because she died a year ago. She said Carlson was convicted on her birthday. The woman was sick the day she was supposed to read her victim’s impact statement in the Court, but shared it with KPRC 2.

“I want you to know that you deserve everything you are about to get, and I hope you live a long life so you have to live with the shame of your guilt. You took my family’s confidence and made them victims along with all the others. You tried to attract us with your church. But we have seen through your lies. I would only want to have seen how evil that you were really before hurting many children. But I am grateful that these children trusted me to help them put them in jail and give them some kind of closure. That you will not be able to harm more children in this life. And that God has pity in your soul because I don’t, ”he said.

The woman said that some of the children are now fighting with their faith.

Prosecutors believe there are more victims out there, and encourage them to appear. They said Carlson plans to appeal.
