Alabama prosecutors are looking for the Birmingham victim family of ‘Serial Stop Killer by Bruce Mendenhall

A 73 -year -old man known as “The Truck Stop Serial Killer” was sentenced this week for the murder of an Indianapolis mother in 2007, and now Alabama authorities are reviewing their positions for killing a woman in Birmingham.

In Birmingham, Mendenhall is accused of killing Lucille “Greta” Carter, A 44 -year -old transitory that was found dead on July 1, 2007 at Finley Boulevard.

The researchers said Carter was shot with a .22 caliber weapon and threw naked next to a garbage container on a service road. He had a plastic bag on his head and adhesive tape around his neck.

The victims of Mendenhall, mostly sex workers, were naked, their heads covered with plastic bags secured with tape and shots on the back of the head. Their bodies were abandoned.

Tuesday, Mendenhall was sentenced to 65 years in prison for the murder of Carma Purpara, whose body was found along a Kentucky road more than four years after it was last seen at an Indianapolis truck stop.

With Mendenhall’s last sentence, he is already serving two perpetual chains for the murders of two women in Tennessee, Jefferson County prosecutors are working to determine their next steps.

The deputy chief district prosecutor Joe Roberts said that Mendenhall could be extradited to Alabama, and prosecutors are looking for Carter’s relatives to talk to them about the case.

Mendenhall was first arrested in Nashville on July 12, 2007.

A detective saw a truck at the TA truck stop at the Interstate 24 that coincided with night surveillance images, Sara Nicole Hulbert, 25, was killed in the same truck, which occurred on June 26, 2007.

A search in his truck, which prosecutors would later describe as a “killing camera”, presented bloody clothes, the identified of another victim and the blood dotted around the interior of the taxi of his truck.

Police confiscated a rifle, knives, wives, latex gloves, several weapons cartridges, black ribbon, a night stick and sex toys.

He was convicted in 2010 for first degree murder in the death of Hulbert and sentenced to life imprisonment.

Mendenhall also received a 30 -year prison sentence for requesting the murder of three witnesses in the case of Hulbert.

Prosecutors say that Mendenhall tried, from a jail cell, hiring someone to carry out the murders of two detectives of the Nashville police and three witnesses.

In 2018, Mendenhall was sentenced and sentenced to life imprisonment in the murder of Samantha Winters, 48, whose body was found inside a garbage boat at a truck stop in Lebanon, Tennessee, on June 6, 2007. They had shot him in the head.

Mendenhall was sentenced last month for the murder of Purpara.

Since then it has been returned to the Tennessee corrections department.

It is also suspected in several other similar murders.
