Berbice ‘Hit and Run’ claims the life of the nine -month -old girl

The police in Berbice are looking for Avinesh Naidoo de Corriverton, who, according to the reports, drove the car that hit an electrical cycle online Path Road on Sunday night, killing Eli Surujnarine, nine months, and seriously hurting his parents.

Hours after publishing details about the tragic accident, the police said that the additional investigations carried out on Tuesday revealed that Naidoo de Corriverton, Berbice, was the driver of the vehicle at the time of the accident, but the efforts to stop it so far have been useless.

Police also said that the car that was involved in the accident was located and is currently housed at the Springlands police station in Berbice.

“In addition, the owner of the car, Vidawattie Arjune, of Crabwood Creek, was contacted by the police who gave a statement and revealed the registration number of the vehicle as HC 8905. She is helping with the ongoing investigation,” the statement said.

Police in their initial release said they are investigating the fatal accident ‘hit and run’ that happened at approximately 6:30 p.m. and resulted in Eli’s death.

The accident involved a white gardening car vehicle and an electrical cycle, driven by Eli’s father, Tushan Surujnarine, 17. At the time of the accident, Eli and his mother, Kavita Bedsan, 19, were pilots.

There, they were also treated by a doctor who later sent them to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC). The baby died on his way to the hospital around 09:45 on Monday.
