The Grand Jury accuses the Mass. Father for the ‘abusive sexual contact’ of the girl in Jetblue Flight to Boston

A Federal Grande has accused a Newton’s father for Supposedly making repeated sexual contact and inappropriately playing a 17 -year -old passenger aboard a 2024 flight From Puerto Rico to Boston, said the US prosecutor.

Jonathan Alan Lefman, 46, was accused in Boston for an abusive sexual contact position, while in the special jurisdiction of aircraft of the United States, said Tuesday the Fiscal Prosecutor of the United States, Leah Foley, in a statement.

Lefman was arrested on February 7 for a criminal complaint and released by conditions.

Lefman was a passenger aboard a Jetblue flight flying from San Juan, Puerto Rico to Boston with his wife and four children on August 30, 2024, when she began playing a 17 -year -old girl sitting directly in front of him, prosecutors allege.

The United States prosecutor’s office published photographs of the alleged incident that the 17 -year -old girl took with her cell phone on Tuesday.

Prosecutors said several times during the flight, and while I was on the field waiting to run out in Boston, Lefman “supposedly dedicated himself to abusive sexual contact with the minor victim.”

“Lefman intentionally worked his hand between the area between the back and lower of the seat directly in front of him, where the minor victim was sitting and touched the buttocks of the minor victim without his permission,” prosecutors said.

At least once, the victim “saw his inclined reflection between the seats in the seat backup monitor in front of her.”

The girl was able to use the camera of her cell phone to take a video of Lefman’s fingers out between the back and lower part of the minor victim’s seat.

According to the judicial documents, after she left the plane, while she was still on the bridge to Jet, the minor victim took a video of Lefman when she got off the plane.

After the deil, the girl’s family member, who had sat in a different row, reported Lefman’s alleged behavior to a Jetblue supervisor and faced Lefman, showing the video of his fingers to support his statement.

If it is declared guilty of the position of abusive sexual contact, while in the special jurisdiction of aircraft of the United States, Lefman faces a sentence of up to two years in prison, five years for a lifetime of supervised release and a fine of up to $ 250,000.
