Rangers fans walk out: Fan views after Ibrox strike

The action was justified…

Alexander Wallace: This equipment is incapable of producing anything for more than 20 or 30 minutes. Against a better team, the Rangers would have struggled. The passes were poor and the defense was sloppy. The three points do not hide anything. I can’t say I blame those who left; Protests have to start somewhere and they have to mean something. Reduced crowd next season?

Brian Robinson: I can understand why some fans walked out in protest of what is happening, inside and outside the park. Even a 3-1 victory against the bottom team in the league was not enough to convince these and many more fans that things are better. The score made Rangers look good. Will getting rid of the manager solve the problem? I doubt.

Exit: The fans’ frustration was deserved. If the board supports Clement, give him the funding to make changes.

…or those who left Ibrox were wrong

James Bannatyne: I don’t understand the reaction of some ‘followers’. We are getting what we asked for. Lower weekly wages, yes. A younger team, yes. Transfer value: higher. Financial responsibility – improving. Reconstruction: a good start, but at best half-way. New board: happening. Everything finished in less than six months? Impossible!

John Cameron: A comfortable victory ruined by the behavior and actions of a minority of fans who were rightly booed by the real fans. Rangers are not the finished article, but they have some excellent young players who need to be encouraged rather than demoralised.

Barry Hume: Senseless imbeciles do not represent the club. They have stayed behind the goal to make positive noise. Shame on them and the club for moving long-term subscribers. They wear their black suits and scream the entire game no matter what is happening. Pathetic. Deactivate their entries and move on to real fans.

Ross: I only watched it from home, so maybe I missed something, but I thought it was a good performance (at least the first half) and definitely an improvement compared to recent away games. I thought it was disgusting behavior when the Bears left. You have the right to protest, but discouraging the players and the coach during a game is an absurd idea.

Anonymous: Disgruntled fans need to get a grip. Support our team and support them, don’t humiliate them. I’ve been a supporter for a long time – over 60 years. You are a blue forever. I am married to a Celtic fan and he is happy about our division.

Lennie: Three points in another game where the team only plays 45 minutes. I don’t agree with part of the fans leaving in the 55th minute, but I agree that the coach should leave now. This has to be one of the worst Rangers teams in a long, long time.
