MANILA, Philippines – The outcome of the investigation into Vice President Sara Duterte’s death threat against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos and House of Representatives Speaker Martin Romualdez is now subject to evaluation by the Department of Justice (DOJ).

In a briefing at the Palace on Monday, Justice Department Attorney General Richard Anthony Fadullon said the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has now completed its investigation.

In an open letter dated November 25, Duterte stated that his assassination threats were “maliciously taken out of logical context.”

He said this after the National Security Council indicated that it considers all threats against the president as “serious and a matter of national security.”

All of these statements came after the vice president, in a press conference, stated that she had ordered someone to kill Marcos, his wife, and Romualdez if she were ever murdered.
