Calls on government to intervene in ArcelorMittal job cuts

This week, the steel producer announced the closure of its long steel business, putting the employment of around 3,500 employees at risk.

AMSA says slow economic growth and excessive costs for both energy and logistics led to this decision.

The closure will affect all long steel plants, including Newcastle Works.
