Girl stabbed and injured near homeless youth shelter in DC; suspect arrested

WASHINGTON (7News) — One person was arrested after a girl was stabbed Monday night in Northeast D.C., according to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).

The girl was found injured in the 1000 block of Maryland Avenue, Northeast, after police were called to a report of a stabbing around 11:30 p.m. near the Sasha Bruce House shelter.

A person suspected of stabbing the victim was still at the scene when officers arrived and charged him with assault with a dangerous weapon.

The victim was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
