Fulham 2-2 Ipswich: Fans’ opinions on the Premier League match

We ask for your opinion later Sunday’s Premier League match between Fulham and Ipswich.

Here are some of their comments:

fulham fans

Willpower: Probably a fair result. We need to take the worst teams seriously or we will continue to fail. We can beat Chelsea away, but not Southampton or Ipswich at home. We need to win the next games to get it back. Also, hats off to Raúl Jiménez for staying calm under pressure.

Terry: It was a poor performance from Fulham. Although they dominated possession, they struggled to break down the Ipswich defence. Fulham should have been awarded a penalty in the first half and then Town conceded a soft penalty in the second half. They were very lucky to escape with a draw. Fulham clearly struggle against teams in the bottom five.

Chris: When you line up with a goalkeeper, five defenders and two holding midfielders against a team in the relegation zone, is it any wonder you don’t score goals? You need more than three players trying to enter the other team’s penalty area.

John: It wasn’t Fulham’s best day with conceding two cheap goals and an inability to work hard enough for the Ipswich goalkeeper despite 73% possession. Even so, they showed the resilience necessary to come back against a team that is comfortably the best of the promoted teams and has a real chance of survival. It could have been a different result if the referee had sent off Leif Davis as he should have. The fact that he also missed our first penalty kick gives credence to Marco Silva’s comments about his performance after the match.

Bruce: I would have taken away a point, but it hurts me that they took away three points like they did. I don’t see how any of the penalties were fair to Christian Walton, but that’s football. We’ll need some good things to take a point from the rest of January, and those three points would have really made the table look more optimistic. I support Kieran McKenna and I support the team; They really look like they belong, but they need to see games like this.

Alex: Great game. We should have won if it weren’t for some silly mistakes! Liam Delap is back in form.

Jaime: It’s hard to know whether to consider this a point gained or two points lost, after having taken the lead twice. I think, on reflection, we should be happy with the result against a solid team in the first half. More importantly, we should be proud of another excellent all-round performance. Another day, Jack Clarke’s shot hits the post and we do not have to regret a second penalty decision against us, but it is a sign of our undoubted progress throughout the season that we are disappointed with just one point.

Tim: Overall a great performance. We were very well prepared, but we conceded two penalties that were naive. Davis didn’t come back on time, he arrived late and made a bad decision that cost us the three points. Overall, I’m pleased with a solid performance and a hotly contested point.
