Chelsea news: Clinton Morrison says Blues ‘don’t finish games’

Chelsea’s winless run in the Premier League extended to four games when they failed to maintain their narrow one-goal lead against Crystal Palace at Selhurt Park on Saturday.

Despite dominating throughout the first half, Chelsea were made to pay for their inability to get a second when the home team struck late to salvage the tie.

“There are some alarm bells ringing because they had 15 attempts against Palace and only one on target,” former Premier League striker Clinton Morrison said on the BBC Radio 5 Live Football Daily podcast. “That is a big problem and not only for the center forward, but for the entire team.

“They are too reliant on Cole Palmer. Jadon Sancho had a good game and I think his game has reached a new level since he arrived, but I am a little worried that Chelsea are not finishing the games.

“Enzo Maresca was right and they were probably never in the title race, but we had to talk about them because they were at the top of the league.

“Now it’s a concern if they can still finish in the top four. I think they can and it’s just a problem they’re going through, but it’s going to be an interesting end to the season.”
