Two seriously injured after single-vehicle crash in Bridgewater

Two people were seriously injured after a single-vehicle crash in Bridgewater.

According to Bridgewater Police, on Sunday, January 5, around 7:20 a.m., crews responded to reports of a single-vehicle crash near the area of ​​357 Pine St.

Upon arrival, first responders observed a silver Chevrolet Cruze with severe damage and debris blocking the road. Due to the nature of the accident, Pine Street was temporarily closed to traffic, police said.

The vehicle was occupied by a driver and a female passenger, both with serious injuries.

The driver was transported by Bridgewater Fire ambulance to Boston Medical Center with injuries believed to be serious but not life-threatening.

The passenger is believed to have suffered serious, life-threatening injuries. She was transported by a Bridgewater Fire ambulance to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton and then transferred to Boston Medical Center.

Initial investigations indicate that the vehicle left the road and collided head-on with a tree.

The crash remains under investigation by the Bridgewater Police Department.
