For some people, the very thought of the ocean is scary.

And even if you don’t have a phobia of marine animals or thalassophobiaIt becomes quite disturbing the more you think about it. I mean, it’s estimated that we’ve explored only five percent of the world’s oceans, so really, who knows what’s out there?

But maybe you’re Billy Big B*llocks and that doesn’t scare you at all. Well, wait for this.

People were left “terrified” of the deep sea after spotting a prehistoric creature in spooky underwater footage.

OceanX shared a clip for YouTube of an encounter with the absolute whopper shark and honestly, it’s sure to rattle those nerves.

At first, it’s not entirely clear what’s happening in the clip as the sand begins to move and form dusty-looking clouds that emerge from the sea floor. And then, as a large snake-like thing shakes, the shark’s enormous head comes into view and passes through the submarine’s window.

Observers can be heard saying “this is a monster” while commenting on its enormous size.

It certainly requires some interest in their vessel as well, as they joke that it’s “going to eat the gun” because it’s “bigger than the length of this submarine is.”

The video description says the story was achieved in partnership with the Cape Eleuthera Institute when they managed to attach a satellite tag to the shark.

“Our target was the deep-sea #shark, the bluntnose shark,” he explains. “This ancient species predates most dinosaurs and is a dominant predator of the deep-sea ecosystem.”

Yes, that's creepy (OceanX/YouTube)

This species of shark can grow up to a mega 20 feet in length with an average weight of 500 kg.

But even larger specimens could reach a considerable 1,000 kg.

And users said in the comments: “If it weren’t for the size, this shark’s eye alone would have given me a heart attack.”

Others compared it to something like ‘something out of a sci-fi movie’, while one reflected: “It’s simply crazy to think that such creatures exist in such completely isolated parts of our planet. “It really makes you wonder what other things are out there.”

Many were frightened by his large eye, as one said: “That human eye worries me. “That look down.”

And another joked: “It’s all fun and games, until something even bigger eats that shark.”

Well, remind me to never go diving in deep water.
