New rewards program is part of elevated experience for Cavs fans

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – The Cleveland Cavaliers welcome fans for the first home game of the 2024-2025 season. The team is treating fans to a new rewards program and lots of new gear.

“It is of utmost importance that we bring all fans closer to the team, to the brand; We try to blur the line between basketball and culture in several ways,” said Georgia Sapounas, Senior Director of Digital Products and Innovation.

Part of the improved fan experience is a new rewards program, launched Friday on the Cavaliers website and Cavs app.

“What fans will be able to do is redeem them, essentially points, and redeem them for rewards, so some of those rewards will be tickets to the game, they’ll be VIP experiences like a Cavs legends dinner,” Sapounas said. “We want to make sure this is available to any Cavs fan.”

Fans can look up where points can be collected, not just in a game but at places like Giant Eagle, and what they can use the points for.

There are also plenty of new things to explore in the team store.

Director of Communications Susan Oguche says the store was designed to offer a locker-room feel and maintains all kinds of collaborations with clothing brands, giving fans a variety of styles while supporting the team.

“Help make this experience about basketball and more,” Oguche said.

The store offers items like a 30th anniversary Rocket Mortgage jacket or a first chance to purchase some trendy shoes.

“Next week, Donovan’s new shoe will hit the team store before it’s available nationwide, and that’s really exciting,” Oguche said.

The ultimate goal is to reach all fans where they are with the game.

“So whether you’re a kid attending your first game with your parents, a casual fan who was asked to come with your friend, or a die-hard Cavs fan who lives and breathes this, we hope you can enjoy it,” Oguche.
