Grizzlies’ Zach Edey looks to bounce back against Rockets

Grizzlies center Zach Edey has been one of the most anticipated players in the NBA for some time.

A 7-foot-4 center who plays in the more traditional sense, many college basketball fans, and even NBA fans, have waited with bated breath to see if the No. 9 pick’s top-heavy style can succeed in the NBA. .

However, in his NBA debut on Wednesday, things did not go as planned.

Edey was fouled out in just 15 minutes of play, scoring just five points on 2-of-4 shooting and five rebounds. It was clear that the Jazz’s game was planned around attacking the former Boilermaker off the dribble, and the results somewhat validated those who were skeptical of Edey’s foot speed, mobility and more. For a while.

Tonight, Edey will have the opportunity to make up ground against those who doubt him. Memphis will face a good Houston Rockets squad. One that will likely compete for Playoff or Play-In position in the Western Conference alongside the Grizzlies.

It won’t be easy, however, as Houston’s best player, Alperen Sengun, is a difficult offensive task for most. At around 6-foot-11, Sengun is tremendously skilled, capable of making moves in the post, spraying his teammates with above-average passing skills, and even putting on simple overalls.

The long-armed Edey might have a slight advantage due to Sengun’s more interior nature, but the Turkish star is known to have adapted before.

The Grizzlies and Rockets kick off at 6 pm tonight from the Toyota Center in Houston.
