Woman describes moment she found out man she is dating is wanted for murder

A woman opened up about the moment she found out that the man she was dating is actually wanted for murder.

In an event straight out of a true crime show, Janey Voyek of Iowa told local news station WCTV in an article published Tuesday that she was shocked to discover that the man she had just started dating earlier this month, Kyle Coolack, was actually on the show. fleeing after allegedly committing a homicide.

Coolack is accused of murdering his brother in Houston, which he confessed to during a date with Voyek.

Voyek’s brother, Eddie, set him up on a blind date with Coolack, who was called “James,” on October 18 when Coolack was acting as a homeless veteran in need of help.

According to WCTV, before the blind date, Eddie let Coolack stay with him at his house, gave him a job in the area, and ended up setting him up with his sister.

Voyek told WCTV that, at first, he found Coolack to be “so charismatic and charming” and that he could “tell you the right things that you want to hear.”

However, things quickly changed when at their appointment the following Saturday, “he just got angry and crazy, and just told me straight out that he had murdered his brother two years ago.”

According to a Houston Police Department (HPD) press release about Coolack that was released on October 21, he is accused of shooting his brother, 35-year-old Brad Henry Coolack, multiple times on March 11, 2022.

He was identified as a suspect after “witnesses in the area stated they heard two people arguing and then multiple gunshots.”

According to HPD, “further investigation determined Kyle Coolack’s involvement in his brother’s death and, on July 15, 2022, a murder charge was filed.”

An HPD spokesperson said news week by phone Friday that, as far as they know, there are no other suspects in the case of Coolack’s brother’s death.

HPD also informed the public through its press release that Coolack has been arrested and is now in custody in Iowa.

He was arrested by the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department after Voyek called his brother Eddie, who confronted him with questions about whether he had committed murder and, according to WCTV, Coolack confessed once again.

That’s when Eddie kicked Coolack out and called the police, who stopped him while he was walking along the road Sunday morning. According to HPD, the arrest occurred “without incident.”

Voyek told WCTV that she fears what could have happened if she had remained in a relationship with Coolack: “Would he have hit me? Would he have tried anything with me and essentially killed me? And there are times when I wonder if he could have happened.” I’ve been there.”

Coolack is being held in the Carroll County Jail while awaiting extradition to Houston.
