Cardiff faced Newtown 2-1: Cardiff Met finished the match with nine men but still managed to hold on for the win against Newtown. An own goal from George Hughes gave the home team an early lead, but Dominic Smith equalized for Newtown after four minutes from a corner. Jack Veale was sent off in the 17th minute for a dangerous tackle on Josh Lock, but Newtown were unable to take advantage. They came closest when Zeli Ismail hit the post with an excellent free kick, only for Met to open the field for Eliot Evans to score the winning goal. Gruff Morgan became the second home player to see a straight red card when the substitute, who had only been on the pitch for nine minutes, hit Jojo Harries late.
