The chaos unleashed in Jalandhar in Holi, the owner of Dhaba attacked, the shattered vehicles

Two acts of hooliganism shook the city during Holi’s celebrations when unidentified criminals wreaked havoc on separate incidents. In the first incident, an owner of Dhaba near the city bus stop was attacked, while the other involved the vandalization of vehicles in Santoshi Nagar.

Around half a dozen armed assailants broke Prince Dhaba near the bus position of the city of Jalandhar around 8 pm on Friday. Armed with swords and other weapons, the attackers attacked the owner of Dhaba, Varun, who was inside the establishment. When an employee tried to intervene, he was brutally beaten with swords and baseball bats. The assailants fled the scene after hurting Varun and two of his employees.

Upon receiving information, the police post of Division No. 6 of the bus position arrived at the place for the investigation. They recorded statements of eyewitnesses and Varun and took the images of the CCTV cameras installed in the Dhaba in their possession to identify those involved in the attack.

The employee, who was brutally beaten, was urgently taken to the Civil Hospital to receive treatment. Police said they had not yet registered their statement, since it was still in treatment. Police said they had taken DHABA CCTV images to identify the attackers. Once the employee’s statement was recorded, a FIR would be registered in this regard, police added.

Meanwhile, the owner of Dhaba, Varun, revealed that the attack arose from an old rivalry. According to reports, he had been receiving threats of assailants in days prior to the incident. Despite the continuous discussions for reconciliation, the attackers took the festive occasion to attack in Dhaba. Varun has urged the police to take strict measures against the culprits.

In another incident, more than 12 assailants broke into a house in the 4th 4th lane of Santoshi Nagar on Friday night. Upon reaching more than 10 two -wheeled vehicles, the attackers exerted sharp weapons and brass knuckles. When the family felt danger and secured inside their home, the attackers turned to the windows of the parked vehicles.

The entire incident was captured in images of the CCTV cameras installed in the lane. An E-Rickshaw driver, who tried to stop the criminals, of the shattered vehicles was also attacked by the assailants. Police have launched an investigation into the case, but there have not yet arrests. Police authorities said they were currently reviewing CCTV images to identify the attackers.
