Sexual offender registered for sexual exploitation for adolescents from southern Florida

Miami -A registered sexual offender of Ohio was sentenced to 30 years in a federal prison for sexually exploiting a 14 -year -old girl from South Florida, the United States prosecutor for the southern district of Florida announced Friday.

According to a press release, Adam Gino James Cotte, 36, met the victim on a website of Internet messages.

“In August 2022, he communicated with her through social networks, text messages and video chats,” said the press release. “During his exchanges, Cotte (located in Ohio) ordered the 14 -year -old girl (located in southern Florida) to take and send naked images of herself. In addition, Cotte instructed the victim to make her friend (also a 14 -year -old girl) record a video of herself masturbating. ”

According to prosecutors, at that time Cotte was communicating with the victim, he was already a registered sexual offender after having been convicted in Ohio for a state child exploitation crime in 2020.

Prosecutors said Cotte confessed the last accusations against him and declared himself guilty on October 29, 2024, for a position of attempted production of visual representations that involve the sexual exploitation of minors.

“In addition to the 30 -year prison sentence, American district judge Beth Bloom sentenced Cotte to a life of supervised release after prison,” said prison statement.

A restitution hearing for May 23 has been established.
