Phoenix police recommend charges for 6 involved in Sky Harbor Shooting at Christmas

Phoenix (azfamily) – The Phoenix Police says they are asking prosecutors to present charges against six people involved in Christmas day shooting at Phoenix Sky Harbor airport.

The authorities said Wednesday that they are requesting charges against three teenagers, two men and a woman, in relation to shooting and stabbing.

The details surrounding the investigation are limited, but the detectives say they worked through “hundreds of evidence”, including surveillance images and interviews. After an extensive review, the police said they are asking the Maricopa County Prosecutor’s office to present charges that range from disorderly conduct to aggravated assault and illegal imprisonment.

At this time, the police do not name any of those suspects.

The incident occurred in a restaurant outside terminal 4, not far from Security control points, causing mass panic and a refuge in the place.

The officers quickly arrived at the scene and found three people who had been shot. Police said it began as a fight between three adults and two adolescents who knew each other.

According to the police, one of the adults took a gun and fired multiple rounds, hitting a woman and a teenager who was involved in the altercation. That teenage boy was armed with a knife and cut the man who shot the gun, the detectives said.

In a separate incident, an armed man, later identified as Cole Elliott Nenon, 21He arrived at the airport after a relative told him about the shooting.

“This man received a text message that he believed there was an active shooter in Sky Harbor. This was not an active shooter. There was never. And he arrived at the airport with firearms ”, the sergeant of the Phoenix Police. Mayra Reeson said at that time.

Judicial records say that Nenon gave his weapons to others at the airport before approaching an officer. An officer witnessed an airport operations employee who held a small gun and a rifle, repeatedly asking the police: “What do I do?” He was finally hired by an aggravated assault charge to a police officer. It is not part of the six against which the police recommend charges.
