According to the complaint, Casap was arrested in Wakeeney, Kansas, during a traffic stop. An previous emergency telephone showed Casap and one of the victims’ phones in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Waukesha County District Prosecutor Lesli Boise said that on February 11, Casap shot her mother at least three times, in the stomach and once on her neck.

The prosecutors said that he killed his stepfather, Donald Mayer, shooting him on the back of the head. Then he went to school the next day, continuing to live at home for almost two weeks until February 23.

“The defendant continued to live in the residence with the two bodies in the house. Then he fled with the $ 14,000 in cash. We know that he was communicating with someone to put false dishes in the car to hide the car was stolen, ”said Boese.

Boese said that after the deaths, Casap was communicating with someone in Russian or Romanian. Casap is originally from Moldova, and their living relatives are mainly abroad.

“It seems that this individual was trying to flee the jurisdiction, not only this state but this country,” said Christopher Bailey, commissioner of the Waukesha County Court. “Many of these problems make the court believe that this individual had no intention of being here where he is today.”

Murder charges are not expected for another two weeks. Casap will return to court on March 24 to present a plea.
