Milwaukee School Security Coordinator registered girls in the costumes: complaint

The prosecutors accused a former security coordinator at Cristo Rey Jesuit High School after they said he put a camera in the girls’ locker room.

Case details

Grendale Man, 41, Fernando Bustos (not in the photo), is accused of invasion of the privacy-device of surveillance (victim under 18).

According to the criminal complaint, Bustos was fired when school officials asked him to deliver his laptop and iPhone of the school. He refused, demanding to eliminate personal items from the devices.

Researchers say Bustos also said he needed to eliminate personal property from a staff costumes.

According to the criminal complaint, he left with two backpacks. One had a small black camera that had hundreds of videos, many taken inside the girls’ locker room.

Prosecutors say that the videos were recorded in a camera activated by movement from May 2024 to February 2025.

One of the videos supposedly shows Bustos by installing the camera in a closed box with grilles. In a period of two days, the researchers found 379 videos that are 10 seconds of high school girls that use the costumes.

The last year student of Cristo Rey Jesuit Lucio Juárez said Bustos was very dear.

“I didn’t believe it. I was very loved among students,” he said. “It is restless that something, someone would do that and would be as close to us as students and especially the female population.”

“As a Catholic and Jesuit Secondary School, our first priority is always the physical, emotional and spiritual security of our students. Recently, the Jesuit leadership of Christ the King discovered information that indicates that a former finished employee violated our professionals professional and potentially the law. Upon discovering this, the school immediately shared the information with the application of the local law.

We are providing every help that we can to the Milwaukee Police Department as they investigate this situation, and we are committed to support our community as we process this information and understand the next steps. “
