Arrest after woman seriously injured in crash in Exmouth

A pedestrian was seriously injured after a crash in Exmouth, police said.

Devon and Cornwall Police said a woman in her 70s from Honiton suffered “life-threatening injuries” after the crash at 14:30 GMT on Friday.

She was involved in an accident with a silver Nissan Almera outside Home Bargains on Salterton Road, police said.

Officers said a man aged in his 50s from Exmouth was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving causing serious injury by careless or inconsiderate driving. He was released on bail until April pending further investigations.
