Car driver beaten to death while trying to intervene in road rage at hospital

Noida: A car driver suffered cardiac arrest hours after being brutally beaten by a mob while trying to break up a fight over a road accident in Bisrakh.
Rajkumar was allegedly kicked in his private parts and hit on the head with a stick during the fight, but did not suffer any bruises or fractures. He was rushed to a hospital after feeling nauseous, but died when he was wheeled away.
DCP (Central Noida) Shakti Mohan Avasthy said three men, including a manager of Haldiram, have been arrested so far. The altercation began around 9.45 am when a motorcyclist, Ravikant (34), collided with a car that had braked suddenly to pick up passengers near Roza Jalalpur village.
“Ravikant, a senior officer at the Haldiram production line, was on his way to Sector 66 to work from home in Ghaziabad’s Balaji enclave when his bike collided with the car. The driver, Mukesh, got down and the two got into a scuffle. Heatedly, Mukesh was soon joined by more auto drivers who defeated Ravikant,” Awasthy said.
The motorcyclist called the police helpline but could not get through, police said. “He then called some friends, including Sahul (24) and Vikas Kumar (22), who were nearby. Together, the men attacked Mukesh and his associates. Mukesh then called Rajkumar for help. Rajkumar, union leader car, tried to dissolve the two groups, but the situation led to a real fist fight,” said the DCP.
The defendants allegedly attacked each other with sticks, rods and anything they could find within their reach. The police reached the spot after a passerby alerted them and the accused, including Rajkumar, Mukesh and Ravikant, were taken to a nearby police chowki and then to the Bisrakh police station.
“At the police station, Rajkumar suddenly fell ill and lost consciousness. He was rushed to a hospital, but doctors declared him dead. The autopsy report stated that the cause of death was cardiogenic shock. He said no They found injury marks on the body,” a senior police officer said.
Ravikant, Sahul and Vikas were arrested after an FIR was registered on the complaint of Rajkumar’s relatives under sections 115 (2) of BNS (voluntarily causing hurt) and 110 (attempt to commit culpable homicide).
Rajkumar’s nephew Ramu Yadav told TOI that the police were trying to downplay the entire incident. “Mukesh told me that Rajkumar was punched and kicked on his private parts during the fight. The accused also hit him on the head. My uncle suffered serious injuries during the fight, which was the real reason for his death,” Yadav said.
Another relative, Sujeet Yadav, a resident of Sector 119, claimed that Rajkumar lived in Noida for the last 15 to 17 years. “He must have suffered internal injuries during the altercation,” he added.
