Kingston News: Police searching for stabbing suspect

Kingston Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect in connection with a stabbing at a local shelter Monday morning.

Officers were called to the shelter on Cowdy Street around 8:50 a.m. for reports of an assault. The victim’s injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Police say Ryan Tonello, 42, of Orillia, Ont. He is wanted on charges of assault with a weapon and possession of a dangerous weapon.

He is described as a white man with reddish blonde hair and a scruffy beard. He was last seen wearing a gray hoodie, a dark-colored motorcycle jacket, and light-colored ripped jeans.

“Tonello is considered to be in possession of weapons dangerous to the public and has demonstrated that he is a threat to public safety,” police said.

Anyone who sees it should not approach it and call 9-1-1 immediately.
