APHC pays enthusiastic tribute to victims of Sopore massacre

In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the APHC, while paying glowing tributes to the victims of the Sopore massacre, has urged international human rights organizations to intervene and hold India accountable for its war crimes. in the occupied territory.

In a statement today in Srinagar, APHC leaders including Mohammad Khan Sopori, Saleem Zargar and others have said that the Sopore massacre exemplifies India’s brutal military operations in IIOJK.

They said the families of the victims of the heartbreaking Sopore massacre continue to wait for justice even after 32 long years, as the gruesome tragedy remains a stark reminder of the brutality of Indian forces in the territory.

On this day in 1993, Indian Border Security Force personnel unleashed terror in the town of Sopore, killing more than 50 civilians, looting valuables and setting fire to the main commercial area.

The troops then poured gunpowder, petrol and kerosene on nearby buildings, setting fire to more than 400 shops and structures, including 75 residential houses in localities such as Arampora, Muslimpeer and Kralteng in the city.
