1 seriously injured in 4-vehicle crash in Corvallis; woman arrested for DUII

CORVALLIS, Ore. (KPTV) – A drunk driver was arrested after causing a multi-vehicle crash with injuries Monday afternoon, according to the Corvallis Police Department.

At approximately 4:45 p.m., officers were alerted to a crash near Southwest Philomath Boulevard and Southwest 35th Street. Officers arrived at the scene and found four vehicles involved.

Police say an investigation showed Kala Baldwin, 24, was driving a red Ford Mustang westbound when she failed to stop for a red light at SW 35th Street and crashed into a stopped Volvo, which was pushed into a Jeep SUV. arrested, who subsequently crashed. a stopped Mazda truck.

The driver of the Volvo, a 54-year-old man from Corvallis, was seriously injured and taken to a hospital. Police say the people in the other vehicles suffered minor injuries and did not need to be taken to a hospital for treatment.

Officers determined that Baldwin was drunk at the time of the crash, according to police. She was arrested and booked into the Benton County Jail for third-degree assault, DUII, reckless driving and reckless endangerment.
