‘Armed and dangerous’ suspect wanted in ‘multiple shootings’ arrested in DeKalb County

SMITHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – UPDATE: The suspect wanted for “multiple shootings” has been located and detained in Smithville, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department.

Officers on scene tell WSMV4 they are working to obtain a search warrant for an apartment on Bell Street in connection with the suspect.

Warren County Sheriff’s deputies were also on scene and told WSMV4 that DCSD would provide more information about the situation when it becomes available.

“Don’t try to broach this topic. He is considered armed and dangerous. Call 911 immediately.”

FORMER: A search is underway for a man wanted for “multiple shootings” in DeKalb County Thursday night, according to a DeKalb County 911 emergency message.

The message says the following:

“This is a message from DeKalb County 911. Be on the lookout for a black male in the Bell Street area who left on foot. He is wanted by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department for multiple shootings. The subject is described as a black man wearing blue jeans and a gray shirt. He is in his twenties. Don’t try to broach this topic. He is considered armed and dangerous. Call 911 immediately.”

WSMV4 has reached out to several first responder agencies for more information on this matter. We have not yet received a response.

WSMV4 has a crew headed to the area to learn more.

A radio station in Smithville, WJLE 101.7 FM, also broadcast the message from the county’s 911 center.
